ARTICLE OF FAITH
We uphold the Thirteen Principles of Jewish Faith as
follows:
-
We believe with perfect faith that G-d is
the Creator and Ruler of all things. He alone has made, does make, and
will make all things.
-
We believe with perfect faith that G-d is
One. There is no unity that is in any way like His. He alone is our
G-d He was, He is, and He will be.
-
We believe with perfect faith that G-d
does not have a body. Physical concepts do not apply to Him. There is
nothing whatsoever that resembles Him at all.
-
We believe with perfect faith that G-d is
first and last.
-
We believe with perfect faith that it is only proper
to pray to G-d. One may not pray to anyone or anything
else.
-
We believe with perfect faith that all the words of
the prophets are true.
-
We believe with perfect faith that the prophecy of
Moses is absolutely true. He was the chief of all prophets, both before
and after Him.
-
We believe with perfect faith that the entire Torah
that we now have is that which was given to Moses.
-
We believe with perfect faith that this Torah will not
be changed, and that there will never be another given by
G-d.
-
We believe with perfect faith that G-d
knows all of man's deeds and thoughts. It is thus written (Psalm 33:15),
"He has molded every heart together, He understands what each one does."
-
We believe with perfect faith that G-d
rewards those who keep His commandments, and punishes those who
transgress Him.
-
We believe with perfect faith in the coming of the
Messiah. How long it takes, I will await His coming every day.
-
We believe with perfect faith that the dead will be
brought back to life when G-d wills it to
happen.
OUR
RELATIONSHIP TO
HALACHAH
Our Synagogue recognizes Halachah and
all the traditions of the Jewish people as instructive and
normative to Jewish life.
THE MESSIAH
• that Messiah must be human and will not be a god-incarnated
man.
• that he must return Jews to Torah practice.
• that the Messiah will herald in the re-building of the third
Temple.
• that his coming will bring about the return of all Jews to Eretz Yisrael, the land of Israel.
• that the Messiah will bring about the Geulah or Final
Redemption.
• that the Messiah has to be an extraordinary human being
brought forth through divine intervention.
• that G-d have already bestowed all power to the
future Messiah, the ruling Son of Man as described by Daniel in the Tanach
(Hebrew Scriptures).
True to Orthodox Jewish understanding, we
await the coming of Messiah, a
prophet like Moses called from among the people Israel. We reject the
Christian doctrine of a G-d incarnated human, or god-man. We recognize
those beliefs to be contrary to Torah and Avodah Zara,
(false or idol worship).
WORLD
REDEMPTION
It is our opinion that through the life, teaching and
practice of the Jew, Yeshua, who affirmed Orthodox Torah
observance to his own, G-d extended redemption to the gentile nations.
Yeshua instructed his followers to reach out to the goyim and
bring them to acknowledge HaShem as the only G-d, the G-d of
Abraham, Isaac,
Jacob, and his G-d, the G-d of Yeshua.
It is recorded in the Christian
bible (Acts 15:19 & 28) that the Shevah Mitzvot,
(seven laws of Noah) was advocated to be
the correct, and only way
for gentiles to relate to Jews and the synagogue.
